Day 2 /Exhibit Opening & Community PAUSE: Celebrating Words with Barcroft Residents

  • Studio PAUSE (Pike) 4710 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA, 22204 United States (map)

Join us for the opening of “Me, Here:” Stories of People and Place as told by the Barcroft Apartments Community to enjoy the creative ways in which the residents of Barcroft Apartments tell their stories of “Me, Here,” through Exhibit 3 of Sushmita Mazumdar’s Arlington Arts grant project Curating 4 Community Art Exhibits.

At Day 2’s mid-morning event, listen to the contributors’ poetry and write your own. Then learn how to use brush and ink to write a Japanese word inspired by a work of art in the exhibit, and take your creations home with you.

We will also be sharing a sneak peek of several oral history videos of Barcroft residents in Exhibit 4, “We Are Barcroft: A 60-Acre History of People & Place,” a grant project funded by Arlington County Historic Preservation Fund!

Light refreshments will be served.
